  They were the lowest bidders. Met with them in the winter to walk off the property with the understanding that I'd get in touch with them when the weather warmed up and the ground was soft enough to put up the fence. I came home from work one day, a few months later, and there were fence posts in my yard! They just showed up when I wasn't home without a phone call. I let it pass but didn't check the position of the fence posts, assuming they were within my property lines as I'd asked them. They finished, I paid. They used nails--some connections had 3 nails, some had one, and some were already popping out when the fence was completed--it was done very quickly and the nails showed that. I asked for part of the fence to have small gaps to see out but the rest to be closed for privacy. Apparently that was too difficult because the small gaps were huge and the closed off areas had gaps, but I let it go. I'm not a picky customer.
  
  Very shortly afterwards, panels started popping out. I had Griffin back out a number of times, then some support posts started leaning. This was all within the first year. It finally stabilized but I had to purchase a power screwdriver and do my own repairs with wood screws because repairs were so frequent, and a friend who is in the construction business said you never put up a wooden fence with nails like Griffin did. Then a few years later, I was informed by a builder that my fence was put up six feet over my property line. I never thought to check, since I live next to an empty lot. I spoke to a number of folks building the house next door and every one of them said the fence company should have checked property lines. Griffin said they would fix it but they'd charge me. I will need to remove and replace about 1/3 of my fence now, and a small side fence has already been destroyed so the builders could get bricks to the back to build the house. I looked at aerial photos and noticed the fence isn't even rectangular--it widens towards the front of my lot. It's six feet over my property line in the front.
  
  Griffin said I told them to put it up that way--as if I would tell them to put it on land that wasn't mine--it's not even straight. Regardless, the posts were put down when I was not around, so I assumed they were in the right spot. I conceded for a while to work with Griffin but then they stopped returning my calls. I would not go to this company or recommend them. I don't know if it's the management or the workers, but I will end up spending a lot more for an inferior fence than if I'd just paid more in the first place. The cost savings are not a savings at all.
